ENOC Group, a wholly-owned company of the Government of Dubai, has reportedly launched a new fleet of tankers in compliance with the latest international EHS standards. This move is in line with the group’s commitment towards including best EHS practices for all its stakeholders.

Besides being ADR certified (a European Agreement concerning the ‘International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), the new tankers feature cutting edge technologies to ensure safe driving, reduce driver fatigue, increase fuel efficiency, stabilise the vehicle, and prevent accidents. For instance, the vehicles have Alcolock feature which automatically locks the truck to disallow the driver to enter the cabin if he has consumed alcohol. The fleet can monitor driver behaviour as well, such as distractions, drowsiness, and use of mobile phone while driving.

The tankers are also driver-proof which means it is equipped with an Electronic Stability Programme to eliminate the possibility of a vehicle rollover and maintain the stability by constantly monitoring tilting tendency.

Moreover, the fleet’s body is made of aluminium which increases the fleet’s operational efficiency by 65 per cent from 2.3 kilometres per litre to 3.4 kilometres per litre. The use of lightweight aluminium reduces stress on the truck’s engine, thereby cuts maintenance costs by 22 per cent.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, said: “We firmly believe the importance of adhering to stringent guidelines when it comes to sustainability and safety; and our new fleet of trucks stands true to our stance on it. We have been a pioneer in fuel distribution in the UAE and with the help of innovation, technology and digitisation, we have created industry benchmarks in environment, health and safety that benefit our customers and consumers.”

ENOC Group always strives to adopt the industry’s best practices for which it constantly studies both local and international markets. It manages over 80 heavy-duty vehicles out of which 70 are used for fuel distribution. On average, the group delivers about 4 billion litres of fuel in a year with the fleet covering about 8 million kilometres per year.
