Canyon Resources Limited has recently found high-quality results from aircore drilling at Ngaoundal within Minim Martap Bauxite Project, a World Class, Tier One Bauxite asset in Cameroon. Results averaged 43.5% aluminium oxide and 1.05% silicon dioxide for the 49 aircore holes drilled at the three plateaux within the Ngaoundal licence.

With several drill holes intersecting high-grade, low-contaminant bauxite, Ngaoundal’s resource of 88 million tonnes grading 41.8 per cent aluminium oxide and 1.3 per cent silicon dioxide could be upgraded.

Canyon’s chief geologist Dr. Alexander Shaw said: “These drilling results from the Ngaoundal plateaux are very positive as they showed a strong improvement in the grade from the previous resource on the plateau.”

According to the report, the results from Ngaoundal will be fed into an updated resource estimate for the pre-feasibility study (PFS) on the Minim Martap Project underway. In next 12 months, targeted resource drilling will be complete expectedly to support the delivery of the PFS.

This aircore drilling result follows last week’s assay batch from the Makan licence of Minim Martap.

A month ago, Canyon Resources discovered 8 metres at 56.76% aluminium oxide and 1.63% silicon dioxide, 10 metres at 53.50% aluminium oxide and 2.08% silicon dioxide, and 8 metres at 53.30% aluminium oxide and 1.50% silicon dioxide aircore drilling over the Agnes Plateau.
