Staff of Chalco indicated yesterday that the company was closing part primary alumina capacity in Shandong Branch. By early this month, about 1 million tons alumina and 25 thousand tons primary aluminium capacity has been shut. Chalco, according to introduction, will not restart these capacity.
Chalco has closed 40000 tons primary aluminium capacity from October, which accounts for 2/3 of the whole capacity in China. While in the following days, Chalco is likely to shut 400000 tons alumina capacity.
