Dr. Stuart Wiesner has been appointed Managing Director of Rheinfelden Alloys with immediate effect. He succeeds Hilmer Kirschner, who is leaving the company at his own request. “Since he arrived at Aluminium Rheinfelden, Dr. Wiesner has played a key role in making the company a technology leader,” says Erika Zender, CEO of parent company Aluminium Rheinfelden. “I’m delighted we were able to find such an ideal candidate to fill this position. It is an important step in the company’s new strategic direction. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Hilmer Kirschner for his service and wish him every success in future.”

Dr. Wiesner joined Aluminium Rheinfelden in late 2014 as department head for Product and Business Development at Rheinfelden Alloys. In that role, he significantly expanded the company’s portfolio of innovative aluminum alloys. Dr. Wiesner has been entirely focused on aluminum processing during his studies and throughout his career. Prior to joining Aluminium Rheinfelden, he held positions at Bühler, DGS Druckguss Systeme and Georg Fischer. Dr. Wiesner studied mechanical engineering in Darmstadt followed by joining and welding technology in Braunschweig, where his thesis was on the “Economical manufacturing of weldable aluminum die casts”.

“I am passionate about finding new and different ways to use existing technology and about driving forward the internationalization of our company,” says the newly appointed Managing Director of Rheinfelden Alloys, Dr. Stuart Wiesner. He sees the potential of both the raw material and of alloys as being far from exhausted. At the same time, the trend towards e-mobility and current economic developments present new challenges to the aluminum industry. “In developing new answers we will work closely with our customers and partners. That way, we will capitalize on further growth opportunities for Rheinfelden Alloys,” says Dr. Wiesner.
