According to a recent report, The Cannondale Bicycle Corporation has launched the next iteration of its long-standing CAAD aluminium performance range - CAAD13. Introducing a new-look machine that is designed to be faster and more comfortable, Cannondale has added dropped seat stays, aerodynamic tubing, disc brakes, and increased tyre clearance to the new bike.

Cannondale’s pavement product director David Devine explained: “Every new CAAD bike we design improves on the preceding version, but the CAAD13 represents a pretty radical new direction for us. With CAAD13, we focused on elements that really improve the ride, namely drag reduction, comfort and wide-ranging capability, while not increasing the weight.”

Compared to CAAD12, the new model has more careful aluminium distribution, lowered seat stays, and better bump absorbing compliance, resulting in a smoother, faster, race-ready road bike that can be enjoyed all day long.

Borrowing similar design cues from the brand’s recently updated carbon fibre SuperSix Evo, the top models of CAAD13 have 45mm KNOT carbon fibre wheels, SRAM Force eTap AXS, and Cannondale’s new SAVE aerodynamic handlebar and stem.

Besides, all models make use of a BB30a bottom bracket, a full carbon fork with tapered steerer, and feature subtle reflective detailing to increase safety in low-light conditions. Using the same 6069 aluminium blend as the CAAD10 and CAAD12, the CAAD13 now sports the SuperSix’s truncated airfoil tube shapes, something Cannondale says offers “over 30% reduction in drag over traditional round tubes.”

Models meant for men have three disc brakes and two rim brakes, while each of them present in models meant for women.
