Dunraven's all-aluminium Trail Ridge caravan offers complete camping experience for a family of six

Colorado startup Dunraven seamlessly merges clean aluminium design and cozy living to camp in its new Trail Ridge caravan that offers enough room for the whole family. The 18-foot (5.5-m), lightweight all-aluminium box trailer is designed for families that want to fully experience the outdoors with all the facilities inside the trailer. It offers an outdoor kitchen, off-grid power system and standing-height interior that can accommodate five to six people with beds.

After the US states like Arizona, California and Utah excelling in the small camper space in last few years, Colorado is recently making its presence felt in the segment. Boulder-based Dunraven joins other emerging Coloradan small camper companies like Colorado Backcountry, Contravans, Timberleaf Trailers and Oasis Campervans.

Dunraven discards tiny trailer designs and goes bigger with an all-weather trailer meant for a family of six in a relatively small footprint.

The interior layout offers a bed set-up in a dual-level L, with two stacked bunks on the wall directly across from the entry door and a third bunk over top the short queen bed on the front wall. It offers a slide-out outdoor kitchen and a slim corner wet cell with combined toilet and shower. Campers are can dine outdoors or sit inside on the lower beds in case of bad weather.

Standard Trail Ridge appliances and equipment include a propane cabin heater, propane water heater, 102-L fresh and gray water tanks, LED lighting and 12V exhaust fan. A 24-innch HDTV and air conditioner are also available optionally.

Dunraven used riveted aircraft-grade sheet aluminium for the lightweight body, fully sealed against weather with aerospace and automotive sealants without compromising on strength. Black textured aluminium at the lower edge adds contrast and reinforcement. The trailer weighs around 1,814 kg and offers 16 inch ground clearance.

Dunraven completed its first Trail Ridge ahead of its trip to last month's Overland Expo. It plans to get the Trail Ridge to market in later 2019.
