Bilgin Yachts unveils second superyacht with aluminium superstructure in its 156 model series

Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts has reportedly launched the second superyacht in its 156 model series in a private ceremony at the yard's Kucukcekmece facility in Istanbul. The yacht named Lilium is 47.5-metre long and built from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.

As per the report, the vessel will now undergo sea trials before undertaking her maiden journey to the south of France, following which it will make her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

While explaining the yacht’s name and where it derives from, Bilgin Yachts chief executive İsmail Şengün said: "The Bilgin 156-II is named after the beautiful white flower Lilium as a sign of our promise to the yacht owners: A sunny and happy day on a deck."

White and golden interior, with brass and marble as the two key materials, represents a peaceful bright ambience inside the yacht, while the exterior designed by Unique Yacht Design mirrors the quintessential Turkish craftsmanship.

Chief executive of Unique Yacht Design, Emrecan Özgün added: “It is always exciting to see the end result of our designs. After the success of Nerissa, we can't wait to see how Lilium will affect the ones who see her. She is a proud example of today's globally recognised Turkish craftmanship."

It is a three-decked yacht that can accommodate ten guests and nine crews. The guest accommodation comprises a master-suite, two double rooms, and two twins. Her cruising speed is of 12 knots and the top end of 16 knots, featuring two diesel MTU 12V2000 engines.
