Orissa Diary reported that NALCO conducted a Customers Meet at Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 18.04.2019. The meet was attended by large number of Aluminium and Alumina customers of NALCO in Gujarat and nearby states. In the meet, a film on NALCO was shown to the customers and a presentation was made by Regional Manager (West). While addressing the gathering, Dr TK Chand CMD of NALCO gave a glimpse of the world Aluminium market and predicted that during the current fiscal 2019-20, Aluminium and Alumina market will remain steady without any abnormalities and will be driven by market fundamentals. He estimated that such market shall be beneficial for the Aluminium industry as there will be incremental growth without stiff rise or fall in prices, which are injurious for the growth of the industry.

Allaying the concern of the customers on fall of LME prices by 10% and price of Alumina by nearly 20%, he informed that Aluminium industry in India should aim at making Aluminium affordable as affordability will bring scalability.

Since Aluminium is a critical metal in the growth process and Indian economy is steadily growing, products of Aluminium in India will have enough space. India is likely to climb up in Aluminium production and will become the second largest producer of Aluminium in the world in the next 2 – 3 years.

The customers of NALCO while reiterating their committed partnership with the organisation requested NALCO to open a stockyard in Ahmedabad.
