Radaflex, Slovakia-based self-adhesive labels producer has reportedly replaced the Mark Andy 2200 press with Mark Andy Performance Series P3 at its facility in Tmava for printing on aluminium foil. The new 8-colour flexo press comes with an ability to cut waste by about 50 per cent and provides unmatched print quality. It is also configured with reverse side printing, two die cutting stations, and cold foil capability. It is fast to make ready between jobs, which is a bonus considering the range of work at Radaflex.

Radaflex co-owner Daniel Lukac believes the mechanical drive of the P3 press and its manual registration and control is well suited for the company.

He said, “The new P3 fits well with our existing production capability which sees 50% of our work supplied on aluminium foil to the pharmaceutical industry and also as lids for plastic cans in the food sector, where 35-micron foil is the preferred material for yoghurt pots and the like, because it provides a safe barrier for the food.”

Radim Krutis, Mark Andy’s distributor for Slovakia, supervised the installation of the press at Radaflex’s Tmava facility, ensuring a smooth process. Operators at the facility find the new P3 faster and more productive than Mark Andy 2200 press.

Once the operators became acquainted with the new equipment Radaflex started with its foil work.  “The P3 handles [the work] with ease which shows how well designed and manufactured it is. It has fulfilled all our requirements for print quality and has saved us material and time since came onstream,” Lukac concludes.
