ŠKODA, at the Geneva Motor Show, reportedly unveiled its latest electric bike called the KLEMENT.

Made from an aluminium frame, the KLEMENT boasts a sleek and stylish look. It has no visible levers or cables, nor the rider’s feet rest on fixed pedals where e-bikes usually have a bottom bracket.

It has bi-cycle-like wheels on one hand and car-like accelerator and brake pedals on the other. But both the components are not found on the handlebar. The pedals do not work in a conventional way either. They have to be tilted forward to accelerate and backward for braking.

The KLEMENT, featuring a 4-kW rear hub motor, has a top speed of 45 Km/h. It also has two lithium-ion batteries, with 52 cells each, that have a total capacity of 1,250 Wh – providing a range of up to 62 km.

With a target weight of approximately 25 kg, ŠKODA claims that the KLEMENT is easy to manoeuvre at all times.

The bike also features an integrated light system that includes an LED headlight and brake light, LED indicators integrated into the pedals as well as a daytime running light. A smartphone holder with inductive charging is located on the crossbar, just behind the handlebars.

Guido Haak, Head of Product Management at ŠKODA AUTO, said: “The KLEMENT is a state-of-the-art, dynamic and easy-to-use vehicle, and allows the ŠKODA brand to further appeal to a younger target group with a heightened sense of environmental awareness.”
