    South Korea aluminium alloy export to Vietnam increased in 2017, expected to continue the trend

    South Korea exports considerable amount of aluminium alloy every year. According to recent estimates, aluminium alloy export from South Korea to Vietnam, one of the top importers, increased noticeably last year. Vietnam imported an estimated 55 thousand tonnes of aluminium alloy from the country in 2017, up from 40 thousand tonnes in 2016.


    Aluminium alloy export from South Korea to Japan also increased in 2017.Total export from the country stood at 28 thousand tonnes, up from 8617 tonnes in 2016. South Korea is estimated to raise its aluminium alloy export to Vietnam and Japan in 2018.



    The country’s export of aluminium alloy has been increasing for the last three years. Global trade data shows South Korea shipped a total of 83 thousand tonnes of aluminium alloy in 2016 and the volume increased significantly to about 119 thousand tonnes in 2017. South Korea is estimated to export about 174 thousand tonnes of this particular product by the end of this year.



    South Korea’s aluminium alloy export revenue is also set to rise in 2018. Estimates show that the revenue from aluminium alloy export will reach US$400 million this year, up from US$264 million in 2017. The country generated revenue of US$167 million from the export of aluminium alloy in 2016.


    Other countries where South Korea exported its aluminium alloy in 2017 include Indonesia (9498 tonnes), India (7219 tonnes), Thailand (5268 tonnes) and the USA (5860 tonnes).
