    A00 aluminium ingot price rises marginally, while alumina price shows no change

    After showing a restraint yesterday, on June 21, at RMB 14120 per tonne, the average A00 aluminium ingot price saw a marginal growth today, June 22, to RMB 14130 per tonne, according to Shanghai Metals Market. The prices are expected to range between RMB 14110 per tonne and RMB 14150 per tonne, with spot discount to settle at RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 10 per tonne.



    However, not all major markets in China witnessed a rise in the A00 aluminium ingot price today. While in east and south, the prices plunged from RMB 14105 per tonne to RMB 14095 per tonne and from RMB 14235 per tonne to RMB 14230 per tonne respectively, in the north, the price registered a growth by RMB 10 per tonne to stand at RMB 14150 per tonne.

    The average alumina spot price, on the other hand, recorded no change today after a slight decline from RMB 2790 per tonne to RMB 2787 per tonne on the previous day, June 21, 2018, according to SMM. Since early this week, June 19, the alumina spot price had been displaying a downtrend as it fell from RMB 2812 per tonne to RMB 2795 per tonne, followed by a further decline to RMB 2790 per tonne on June 20 and RMB 2787 per tonne on June 21 and June 22.


    All the major Chinese markets also witnessed no change in the alumina spot price today. More details are as given in the following table.
