    Tata Technologies partners with NIO for all-aluminium electric car

    Tata Technologies, a global engineering services provider, announced a partnership with NIO China, a leading new-generation electric car company, for the development of all-aluminium electric car.



    The association between the two companies commenced with collaborative engineering for NIO’s first electric all-aluminium vehicle, the ES8.NIO intends the ES8 to be its first product for Chinese electric vehicles market.


    Warren Harris, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer for Tata Technologies, said, “ES8 is an important milestone for the automotive industry. The 7-seater high-performance electric SUV is a mobile living space on wheels.”


    “Our close working relationship in the areas of Lightweighting, Connected Vehicles and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a great example of the type of partnerships that will define the future automotive ecosystem.”


    Roger Malkusson, Vice President, Vehicle Engineering for NIO, recognized Tata Technologies’ contribution, and said, “We have an ambitious goal of delivering a new premium user experience with electric vehicles that will set benchmarks globally and Tata Technologies is our partner of choice to help achieve this.


    “The first finished product, ES8, is an all-aluminium SUV that broke lightweight index benchmarks and was delivered in record time from a blank page to a validation vehicle in world class duration.”
