Bombay May 10 ----A senior officer of Indian National Aluminum Company (Nalco) said Thursday that the three-day long “Temporary strike”, which happened in the subsidiary alumina refinery , would cause the loss of 8,000 tons of alumina.
The company said that the strike was led by the “demand” of local community leaders, since they asked the company to provide job opportunities to the families of a dead miner.
These people blocked the gate of refinery, and the mine was also forced to close temporarily.
The daily yield of this refinery is 4,500 tons. After the negotiation between community leader and management officer, both parties have reached a satisfactory result.
