Weak building industry presses aluminium price

The building industry accounts for 1/3 of China¡¯s aluminiun consumption. Slow down of this industry will lay burden to aluminium price of H2 2008, says a Barclays Capital analyst.

Besides, price of Shanghai aluminium futures is close to the 4-year low at present.

And lowered consumption will bring burden to LME aluminium price as China is going to export the rest aluminium to the international market.

The benchmark December contract of Shanghai Aluminium closed at 52,940 yuan Wednesday, down 1,610 yuan compared with the last exchange.
