Sichuan Qimingxing Aluminium cut output for weak aluminium price and consumption market

Sichuan Qimingxing Aluminium Co., Ltd indicated that it would cut output by 1/3 this week caused by weak aluminium price and consumption market. 

The company has aluminium production capability of 125,000 ton/year.

¡°We¡¯re going to close primary aluminium output of 50,0000T within two days as aluminium price in the country is low while the cost is high; we lose 2000 yuan for production of each ton aluminium.¡± Said a manager of this company.

He also said that the weak water and electric supply in winter force the company to close part of production capability.

The company may close production capability to as much as 1/2 if the market dose not improve in the following few weeks.

Other aluminium producers are in normal production.

It is predicted to restart the closed production capability in April 2009.
