    Chongqing to become China Aluminium Processing Capital in six years

    Tong Xiaoping, Vice Mayor of Chongqing, indicated on the 13th World Aluminium Conference that Chongqing would become China Aluminium Processing Capital in six years.


    According to Tong, Chongqing Municipal People's Government and Aluminium Corporation of China signed an primary agreement of “Construct China Aluminium Processing Capital” in March 2006, which planned to build Chongqing into first class aluminium processing center in China within 8 to 10 years.


    Chongqing government planned an area of 30 square meters in Xipeng Aluminium Industrial Park for developing aluminium processing industry to speed up construction of Aluminium Processing Capital. Besides, the government has also been contributing to improve public construction of road, railway, port, water, gas and electric supply, ect.


    There are more and more enterprises coming into the industry park in recent days with 22 companies totally invested 6.5 billion yuan, by August.
