May 2---It was learned in the energy-saving conference held by China aluminum company in Guiyang, Guizhou that in the next 5 years, China would recycle 30% of used aluminum resources, and 5 million tons of aluminum, which could save 742.5 billion kilowatt-hour, equivalent to an annual generating capacity saving of 12 Longyangxia water power stations.
The manager of China aluminum company Xiao Yaqin said that large amounts of electricity is used in the process of smelting, so the aluminum is considered to be high-energy-consuming product. But aluminum is lightweight, soft texture and easy processing, with low energy consumption in the course of using. Moreover, aluminum has good recycle performance. Compared with original aluminum, 95% energy consumption can be saved to produce one ton of renewable aluminum.
Xiao Yaqin said that China has become the world’s largest aluminum producer and consumer, but China is very short of bauxite resources, so it is very urgent to recycle and use renewable aluminum. It is understood that China aluminum company is currently building a project with annual production of 2 million tons of renewable aluminum alloy in Qingdao. The project is expected to be built up this year. China aluminum company will initially establish recycling system of used aluminum so that the output of renewable aluminum can reach 10% of total output of aluminum.
