Rio Tinto Group plans to build project in Malaysia

As the world’s third largest mining company, Rio Tinto Group announces that the company plans to build aluminum projects in Sarawak region Malaysia.
Tuesday, the spokesman Nick Cobban said in an interview, “ We plan to build aluminum smelting projects and supporting hydropower plant in Sarawak region. But he said it was not appropriate to reveal more details of the project.
Tom Albanese, the CEO of Rio Tinto Group, said that the company planed to establish aluminum projects in Malaysia, Australia and Abu Dhabi so that to expand its worldwide influence.
Since aluminum is used in more and more industries, the price of it made a new record last year.
The output of aluminum in Rio Tinto Group was 844,700 tons, while the yield of alumina was 32,500,000 tons.
