    CRU schedules World Aluminium Conference in London for 2017

    CRU Group, the London-based analysis and consultancy firm CRU focuses on the global mining and metals, has scheduled the World Aluminium Conference on 3-5 May 2017 at the Marriott London Grosvenor Square hotel.  The World Aluminium Conference 2017 is the CRU’s 22nd edition of the summit.

    The World Aluminium Conference 2017 will address the aluminium supply, demand and sustainability factor in the aluminium sector.

    The CRU said, the event also going to cover how environmental and economic strategies interact and the business opportunities created by sustainability.

    The 2017 conference will interest more than 200 delegates all over the world. The event will provide an update on the outlook for markets, prices and premiums in the aluminium sector. The World Aluminium Conference 2017 comprises two workshops, one on managing aluminium price risk and the other on aluminium casting technology.

    The Scheduled speakers at World Aluminium 2017 include Michael A. Bless, President, CEO and director with Chicago-based Century Aluminium, Erika Ahlqvist, an executive vice president with Norway-based SAPA AS, Tolga Egrilmezer, a vice president with London-based Rio Tinto etc.

    The following topics are expected to be covered at the event include:

    Can large markets in low-carbon and high recycled material-content be created beyond castings and cans?
    Would a premium for green aluminium be achievable, or does the benefit lie in market creation?
    Is China on a path to rolled products global dominance?
    Will the WTO case re-shape global aluminium trade, pertinent to China?
    How will the “internet of things” drive efficiency and create new opportunities for aluminium?
    Can the United States cope with being the largest importer of aluminium in the world, and if so, where next for the Midwest premium?
