Christmas is approaching and the festive spirit is setting in all around the globe. Christmas shopping is incomplete without the Christmas tree. Keeping up with the Christmas spirit, the Wisconsin Historical Museum is organizing their new exhibition, “Ever Gleaming: The Enduring Love Affair with the Aluminum Christmas Tree” to be open for visitors from Friday, November 25.
“Aluminum trees were very popular in the 1960s and we want to give guests a chance to experience the nostalgia of a bygone era,” said Mike Hollander, interim director of the Wisconsin Historical Museum. “Guests will be able to see over two dozen different aluminum trees in different colors, from the standard silver tree to a rare pink tree. Over the last 10 years, the popularity has grown incredibly, and a whole new audience has discovered Evergleams,” he said.
The Aluminum Specialty Company from Wisconsin company is the largest manufacturer of aluminium trees. Their brand of Christmas trees called the Evergleam, is a remarkable success, with a delivery record of more than one million American homes.
The museum will recreate old Christmas theme homes and will allow visitors to relive holiday memories, pose for pictures in a replica 1960s living room. The visitors can also see a wide array of shiny aluminium trees in a wide range of types, sizes and colours.
The Wisconsin Historical Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday and in December; it will be open on Sunday also. The Museum has free entry with a suggested donation of $5 per adult and $3 per child. The exhibition will be running till January 14, 2017.
