Analysis on China aluminium industry

There are, by the end of May 2008, 423 aluminium alloy companies, including 92 at loss of 21.75%. Employed people 238,436, 12.84% up year-on-year; the growing rate is higher than the previous period. The general capital and industrial general production value are in sustained growth, in a higher speed than the previous period. This industry is in quick development. The country’s aluminium alloy output reached 1,955,190.95T by the end of May, up 34.41% year-on-year. Growth of aluminium alloy industry, since 2008, has been kept in a high level of above 30%. However, absolute production number and other categories in the market still lag behind despite the rapid growth of aluminium alloy output.
Profit status of aluminium alloy industry, by the end of May 2008 has been in favorable condition with all indexes climbing higher than the last period, and particularly the sales profit rate (8.87%) and cost profit rate (9.80%). Industry profitability is regained to some degree which is, however, still lagging behind of last year. Unfortunately, index of management ability of aluminium alloy fell far behind last year, and this trend will continue.
