Excitement is building for the 11th edition of the ALUMINIUM trade fair and conference, to be held in Düsseldorf from September 29 till December 1. Eight months before the fair commences more than 700 exhibitors have registered for the world's largest branch event. So it looks like ALUMINIUM is well on its way to have another record year, like in 2014. The fair is also expected to grow in terms of area, too: Six halls (9 to 14) will be occupied by ALUMINIUM this year.
Every two years ALUMINIUM shows off new, pioneering solutions for more efficiency in production and processing - ranging from raw materials to semi-finished products, right to finished products from the application industries, including machines, equipment, accessories and surface treatments. In 2016 the fair will be focusing on the subjects of lightweight construction and resource and cost efficiency.
'Lightweight construction is a megatrend, and in future it will offer excellent growth potential for aluminium,' says Olaf Freier, Event Director of the ALUMINIUM fair. 'But this will require that the industry is successful in shaping production and the entire material cycle in a resource and cost efficient way. In the long term a slim and efficient value-added chain will be decisive in determining the competitiveness of the material,' continues Freier.
ALUMINIUM 2016 is the world's largest branch event for the aluminium industry, and meeting place of aluminium manufacturers, processors, and providers of technologies and equipment for the entire value-added chain. Responsible for the fair's organisation is Reed Exhibitions, with support from the Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie (GDA), and European Aluminium, the European branch association. At the last event in 2014 the fair counted 935 exhibitors and 24,313 visitors. Roughly 1,000 exhibitors are expected for ALUMINIUM 2016.
