The world aluminium foil packaging market is expected to continue showing stable growth over 2015-2025. China will account for approximately 45% of the global demand and developing countries are expected to account for a bigger market share over the next ten years as their economies develop further. Packaging sales in the emerging economies are expected to continue to show strong growth as both increased consumption and demand for consumer goods drive the need for more sophisticated packaging.
The aluminium packaging industry is expected to continue showing stable development at a considerable volume level. However the industry has been negatively impacted by rising prices for raw materials. Combined with the fact that many countries are still recovering from the recent economic crisis, it is expected to be a tight hold on margins. Whilst the financial conditions for the growth of aluminium foil packaging may not be particularly favourable, consumer sentiment is expected to be positive over 2015-2025.
The increased focus placed on sustainability will play a significant role in creating this positive sentiment and the developing regions are expected to drive growth over 2015-2025. This will be largely due to increasing market penetration and rising incomes in developing countries. Rising incomes will encourage consumer spending and the demand for aluminium foil packaging will increase as a consequence. Furthermore the palpable immaturity levels in packaging markets in the developing regions will extend to aluminium foil packaging, and will allow for strong and sustained growth over 2015-2025.
