As per the report, the global beverage container market is expected to grow at CAGR of 2.83% during 2014-2019. It has been observed the market for carbonated soft drinks (CSDs) has been shrinking over the last one decade, whereas demand for other types of beverages has been growing at a steady rate. Packaging industry players are modifying their product portfolios accordingly to accommodtae this shift in consumer preference and are also resorting to other packaging formats.

The packaged drinking water segment witnessed a strong growth in the last financial and is predicted to hold ground this financial as well. Coming to CSDs, although drop in sales is likely to have an impact on the beverage containers market, it will be offset by the rise in demand for other beverage containers.

One of the biggest challenges hindering the growth of beverage conatiners market is the increased competition from alternative packaging media such as paperboard cartons and flexible packaging.
