The Saudi Arabian Mining Company, Ma'aden, which owns the largest and most efficient vertically integrated aluminium complex in the world, is hosting the 19th International Arab Aluminium Conference, ARABAL in November 2015.

Featuring international participation, the conference is scheduled to take place from 15-17 November 2015 at the Dhahran International Exhibitions Center in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

While the conference will focus on" the integration of the upstream and downstream aluminium industry across the GCC", it will also discuss topics related to the future of the global aluminium industry, promoting cooperation between producers and consumers, in order to achieve the common objectives of the participants in this gathering and the aluminium industry as a whole.

Ma’aden CEO Engineer Khaled bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, expressed the company’s appreciation to be hosting this gathering of major aluminium companies. ”Hosting ARABAL consolidates the position of ‘Ma'aden’ and its successful journey towards building a reputation as one of the largest mining companies in the world,” he said.

”The conference will discuss current and future challenges for the aluminium industry, and the opportunities for industrial integration of Aluminium in the Gulf region and how to strengthen them” Eng. Al Mudaifer said.

Ma'aden will also present the experience of an integrated supply chain through a tour to its aluminium complex in Ras Al-Khair, demonstrating the application of the manufacturing vision "from the mine to the end product".

The tour will include all the key components of the supply chain starting with the stockpiled bauxite, delivered by rail from the mine, passing to the refinery and the smelter and finishing with the rolling mill and aluminium can reclamation facility. Eng. Al Mudaifer stated that the ARABAL Conference has become one of the most important events in the Aluminium industry.

“It is an opportunity to review opportunities within Ma’aden projects, while presenting the Kingdom as an investment hub for the aluminium companies which contributes to attracting foreign capital and the localization of global technologies. This global industrial gathering will reflect positively on the aluminium industry, he said.

On another note the Chairman of ARABAL, Mr. Mohamed Al-Naki confirmed that the conference will witness participation from a lot of international companies, which will enrich the debates between the speakers and specialists through panel discussions, highlighting the latest developments in the aluminium industry and the economic developments and the effect on aluminium production.
