Asia Automotive Lightweight Procurement Symposium 2015 was Held in Shanghai

“Asia Automotive Lightweight Procurement Symposium” organized by AluMag was held from the 6th – 8th of July 2015 at the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel in Shanghai, China. This is the only international symposium that focused on automotive light weighting, supply chain and purchasing management. China Aluminum Network as the officially invited media has also attended this conference, staffs from China Aluminum Network’s news center and international department have made a wonderful report for the three-day conference.

At 09:15 am 7 July, Mr. Jost Gaertner the Managing Partner of AluMag Automotive GmbH made a short welcome speech and the conference was formally started.

First, Frank Venier from Audi AG in charges of Strategy and Innovation Lightweight Design Centre, the topic of his speech is “Lightweighting SUV – The New Audi Q7 In Multimaterial Car Body Design”.

Then, Mr. Gerhard Krachler from Magna Steyr Engineering AG & Co KG and Mr. Christian Juricek from Magna Cosma International made a speech on “Magna’s Global Advanced Lightweight Competences”.

In the afternoon, representatives form DGS Druckguss Systeme AG, Guangdong Hongtu Technology (Holdings) Co., Ltd, Kurtz GmbH and Voestalpine Metal Forming GmbH all have made impressive speeches. At the end of that day, Jochen Siebert the Managing Partner from JSC Automotive Consulting Co. Ltd made a profound analysis on “Outlook and Hurdles of the Chinese Economy and Automotive Industry”.

On 8 July, “Asia Automotive Lightweight Procurement Symposium 2015” was begun with the speech from Prof. Fei Xiong the Chief Engineer & Director of Auto Lightweight Department – Geely. Geely which is the leading company of domestic brand in China now is engaging in the promotion of lightweight cars. Novelis and Sapa Group have speeches on “High Volume Aluminum Solutions for Light weighting” and “High performance Aluminum Alloys For Automotive Light-Weighting” respectively. Next, Mr. Yoshikazu Mukai from Kobelco Automotive Aluminium Rolled Products (China) Co., Ltd – Shanghai Branch and Mr. Martin Shi from GASGOO all have made splendid speeches.
