China 7 months trade surplus reach USD 123.72 billion

Xinhua quoted General Administration of Customs said China's trade surplus was USD 123.72 billion in January to July 2008. Customs also confirmed that the trade surplus was USD 25.28 billion in July up from USD 21.35 billion in June.

Customs said exports in July rose 26.9% YoY to USD 136.68 billion while imports were up by 33.7% at USD 111.40 billion. Exports rose 22.6% in January to July 2008 to USD 802.91 billion while imports were up by 31.1% at USD 679.2 billion.

Coal exports in the first seven months were up 4.9% at 30.28 million tonnes. Iron ore imports stood at 269.61 million tonnes up by 21.8% YoY.
