Despite the downward-trend in aluminium LME prices, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) was able to increase its overall sales and throughput.

For the first quarter of 2015, sales figures reached 228,307 metric tonnes (mt), an increase of 1,835 (mt), versus 226,472 mt in Q1 2014 while production jumped by 2.4% to 237,774 mt versus 232,298 mt for the same period in 2014.

In addition, Alba closed the first quarter with its Value-Added Sales averaging 64% of total shipments versus 66% in 2014.

Commenting on Alba’s sales and production for Q1 2015, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murray said:

“Despite challenging market conditions, we are pleased with the higher overall figures for production and sales, ahead of the company’s own forecast for the period, thanks to strong management performance.”

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) will release its first quarter 2015 financial results to the public on Thursday, May 7, 2015 as well as upload the IR presentation on its investor relation section at www.albasmelter.com.
