National Aluminium Company's (NALCO) third quarter profit may jump 167 percent year-on-year to Rs 350 crore on strong operating income, according to the average of estimates of analysts polled by CNBC-TV18.
Total turnover grew 17 percent to Rs 1,920 crore from Rs 1,644 crore during the same period. Operating profit may surge 130 percent Y-o-Y to Rs 470 crore and margin may expand 1210 basis points to 24.5 percent in the quarter gone by.
Analysts feel alumina price gains may be offset by lower alumina volumes (due to cyclone Hudhud). Impact of lower alumina volumes may be partly offset by higher alumina realisations.
They expect slightly better aluminum realisation on sequential basis despite lower LME due to weaker rupee. According to a poll, aluminum profits may be flat Q-o-Q due to higher costs.
