Influenced by China's rapid economic growth and the high price of electrolytic aluminum, China's production and consumption of aluminum both greatly increased in 2007.
As macro control of China's aluminum industry had continued to deepen while the national policy was limiting exports, the import and export of electrolytic aluminum in 2007 were significantly reduced.
As the result, the domestic aluminum market was in a surplus-supply situation. At the same time, aluminum storage continued to increase, while the local aluminum market was weakening.
