Mingtai Aluminum Auto Aluminum Plate Project will go on Stream in H2

(China Aluminum Network) Mingtai Aluminum (601677.SH) reported the auto aluminum plate business will go on stream in next half year; this is a significant step for company’s transformation and upgrading.

At present, Mingtai Aluminum has reached preliminary agreement with Geely Automobile, Great Wall Automobile, Chery Automobile and other large scale car makers; they will carry out deep cooperation in terms of auto aluminum plates.

Car makers use aluminum to replace steel is the development trend. Shashi Maudgal, Asia president of world’s largest auto aluminum plate supplier Novelis Inc. said car body produced in China, Japan and Korea use about 5 tons of aluminum; the figure will grow to 30% in the following decade.
