Novelis China wins the ¡°2014 Excellent Supplier¡± award from China¡¯s leading automotive manufacturer FAW-Volkswagen

On 15th Jan 2015, Novelis China won the “2014 Excellent Supplier” award at the FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW) Purchasing Working Conference held in Changchun, Jilin province, becoming the only flat-rolled aluminum supplier to receive the award. The company was recognized for its strong local and global support and committed supply for FAW-VW’s fast growing production and its important role in assisting the customer with the development of aluminum parts for Audi cars, in cooperation with Novelis Europe.

“It is a great honor for Novelis China and the Novelis global automotive team to receive full recognition from FAW-VW which is the biggest aluminum BIW user in China for our excellent service. It is definitely a team achievement from hard working and tremendous efforts through the coordination of both global Audi account team and local FAW-VW team.” said James Liu, Managing Director of Novelis China and Vice President Automotive of Novelis Asia at the ceremony. “With the opening of the Novelis Changzhou plant last October, China’s first automotive aluminum heat-treatment facility and leveraging 40 years of global technological expertise and groundbreaking innovation, Novelis China is committed to collaborating with local OEMs to design next-generation vehicles that are both sustainable and high-performing for the Chinese consumers,” Liu added.

Novelis China has been engaged in a strategic partnership with FAW-VW by officially supplying aluminum materials since 2012. After two years of cooperation, Novelis China received the “Good Supplier Nomination” award in 2014 for its high value-added services in supporting FAW-VW’s lightweight car production in China. The “2014 Excellent Supplier” award is another recognition of the solid collaboration between Novelis China and FAW-VW. In a competitive field, Novelis China was the only flat-rolled aluminum supplier among ten companies that received the award, chosen from a field of approximately 400 suppliers.
