The Pollution Control Department (PCD) Office's 16th Division and the related agencies are inviting the public to donate aluminum materials to be processed into prostheses for persons with disabilities.
The 16th Division of the PCD Office and the Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Offices of Songkhla, Pattalung, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, has launched the aluminum material recalling scheme. The aluminum received in this scheme will then be transformed into the royally bestowed prostheses in order to reduce the aluminum waste.
The public can donate aluminum materials to the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H The Princess Mother. The Foundation will then process the aluminum into leg prostheses and canes for persons with disabilities and elders.
Aluminum materials can be donated through post by sending the clean material weighing less than five kilograms to the Pollution Control Department. The public can also deliver it to the donation centers in Songkhla, Pattalung, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and Bangkok, or deliver it to the Prostheses Foundation office in Chiang Mai.
Recycling aluminium materials into prostheses will also help reduce the green house gas emissions to the atmosphere from the elimination process, of which one ton of aluminum can can reduce up to 17 tonnes of green house gas.
