With an expected announcement in the first quarter of 2015, the Samsung Galaxy S6, according to the latest leaks, has gone through a complete overhaul as far as the design is concerned. The latest leaks shows the assembled version of the upcoming Galaxy flagship with a vivid, colored, plastic front and an aluminum unibody. The flagship has therefore changed, as all previous iterations were inclined more towards a plastic body. After enduring criticisms for using a plastic body and suffering poor sales of the Samsung Galaxy S5, this time Samsung has gone all out with a brand new design language for the upcoming Galaxy S6.
One thing that we can notice is the bright and bold tone of the front, suggesting that Samsung must be considering new color options for the upcoming flagship. Earlier reports suggested that Samsung is still deciding between a 5.2 inch and 5.5 inch screen, but with this leak we can put an end to that discussion. However, other suggested specifications include a 1080p display and a Snapdragon 801 processor, which is certainly no longer expected to appear in the upcoming flagship as the Snapdragon 810 with 64 bit architecture is already going into mass production.
Nevertheless, reports are coming in about the Galaxy S6 Edge, which will supposedly feature a dual edge screen with curves on both sides, as compared to one side on the Galaxy Note Edge. It is touted as the premium version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and will feature the Snapdragon 810 and 4GB DDR4 RAM, which was recently announced by Samsung and pushed into mass production. This news isn’t confirmed so do take it with a pinch of salt, but it certainly could happen. Also, we know from previous trends that Samsung always has two models for their flagship, one featuring Qualcomm processors and the other using Exynos SoCs.
