In recent years, Shanxi Geological Prospecting Bureau won great achievements in exploring mine resources. It has delivered 63 million ton Fe, 344 million ton bauxite, 1.063 billion ton coal, 2.13 million ton rutile ore, 7.2 ton gold and about 10 ton silver.
These mineral resources are in urgent need in China’s economic development. Among all the projects, Hedong coalfield bauxite alone handed in 140 million ton mineral resources, equaling to 7 large bauxite bases.
With constant development of industrialization and modernization, mineral resources, Fe, aluminium, copper, etc in particular, are becoming increasingly important.
