Venezuelan Bauxilum's October alumina output up 1% year on year to 53,328 mt

Venezuelan group CVG-Bauxilum's October alumina production rose 1% year on year to 53,328 mt, which was 16% lower month on month, it said Tuesday.

Bauxite production at Bauxilum's Pijiguaos mine totaled 302,344 mt in October, down 13% year on year and 14% lower than in September.

While Bauxilim's alumina output has increased in the past few months after a second production line was restarted, production has been erratic because the line has had to be shut occasionally amid a lack of parts and components.

Bauxilum, with 2.0 million mt/year of installed alumina capacity, and 5.5-5.8 million mt/year bauxite capacity, forms part of the Corporacion Venezolana de Guayana's (CVG) 600,000 mt/year primary aluminum complex in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state.
