Aluminum Consumption Decreased in August in Car Industry

(China Aluminum Network) According to the latest data from China Association of Automobile Manufactures (CAAM), Chinese car production in August was behind the expectation and fell to a 6-month low.

In theory, the consumption of aluminum in car industry was decreased slightly in August. Chinese car industry used 218.5 thousand tons of aluminum in August; decreased 0.34% compared with last month, but increased 2.22% compared with the same period in last year. From January to August, Chinese car industry consumed aluminum 1941.1 thousand tons totally, up 6.67% from the figure 1819.8 thousand tons in the same period in last year.

In terms of car sales in August almost accord with the expectation, sales promotion will enlarged to stimulate car sales during the Mid-autumn Festival in September and National Day in October which may improve car production directly. It is expected car sales will stand at 1800-1900 thousand can raise the demand of aluminum.
