Baise planned to complete construction of Asia Aluminium Production Base before 2010

Baise, Guangxi is in construction of ¡°100 billion ton aluminium industry¡±, striving to develop it into the core industry of the province and make it the major aluminum industry base of China and even Asia before 2010.

Guangxi boasts rich bauxite, exceeding 1 billion tons. By the end of 2008, alumina output in Baise can reach 5.8 million tons, which accounts for one forth of the country¡¯s total volume.

At present, the government is committed to development of electrolytic aluminium, aluminium profile and aluminium downstream processing. production value of aluminium industry is expected to reach 110 billion yuan by 2010 with added value 38 billion yuan; to reach 175 billion yuan by 2012 with added value 58 billion yuan.
