A new plant is going to be constructed at the Nhan Co Industrial Park in Dak Nong province by the Tran Hong Quan Trading Ltd Company which is due to be completed in the two years.
The Trade and Industry Minister Vu Huy Hoang said at the inaugural ceremony of the project that this would be one of a kind project where aluminium bars will be produced. These will paly a vital role in improvement of the socio-economic condition of Central Highlands.
The plant will have a capacity of 450,000 tonnes which will allow the right utilization of the domestic bauxite reserves and enable aluminium production projects.
The materials for the plant will be provided by the Nhan Co alumina project which the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation will put into operation.
The project will be developed in three phases starting with a target of 150,000 tonne annual production in the first phase which should be achieved by 2016. By 2017 the plant is expected to move into the second phase with 300,000 tonne annual capacity. The final capacity of 450,000 tonne annual capacity is expected to be reached by 2019 in the third and final phase.
