A full service supplier of plant equipment to the metals industry, Danieli supplies systems for raw materials handling, recycling, melt shops, continuous casters, rolling mills, process and finishing lines, extrusion and forging plants. Danieli ranks among the three largest suppliers of plants and equipment to the metals industry worldwide.
"We're glad to welcome Danieli and Black4 on board during this exciting time for aluminum," said Aluminum Association Chairman Layle "Kip" Smith, President of Noranda Aluminum. "From plant expansions to major growth in the transportation sector, we're encouraged by how the industry is positioned for future growth."
"The addition of Black4 and Danieli in particular really underscores the global reach of the aluminum industry," added Heidi Brock, President & CEO of the Aluminum Association. "It will benefit the entire membership to have their voice and perspective to the table."
During the past 12 months alone, Aluminum Association member companies have announced investments in U.S. plants totaling more than $1 billion. These expansions will create more than 1,000 permanent and temporary jobs nationwide. These expenditures are designed to capture anticipated demand growth in the use of aluminum in the automotive market as carmakers strive to produce more fuel-efficient and safer vehicles. These investments are expected to add hundreds of thousands of tons of aluminum auto sheet capacity right here in the United States.
