Aluminium Bahrain net income falls

Aluminium Bahrain posts net income of $86m for the first six months of the year - down from $163m last time.

Production rose by 2.5% to 464,012 metric tonnes but total sales were US$ 1.001bn versus US$ 1.018bn in H1 2013, on the back of higher premium partially offset by lower LME prices.

Chairman Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa said: "Alba continues to improve its underlining performance and achieve sustained earnings amid tough LME market conditions."
