DJ Chinalco 1H Profit CNY7 Bln; Revenue Over CNY70 Bln

Aluminum Corp. of China, or Chinalco, said in a statement Wednesday its first-half profit totaled CNY7 billion (US$1.03 billion) and its revenue during the period topped CNY70 billion.

It said its alumina output in the six months ended June 30 rose 0.5% from a year earlier, its aluminum output increased 1.6% and its copper output rose 7.8%.

The value of its assets exceeded CNY370 billion at the end of June.

Chinalco, which has primarily been an aluminum and alumina producer, recently changed strategy to become an international multi-metal mining firm.

Chinalco is the parent company of Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. (ACH), which is listed in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and has American Depositary Receipts listed in the U.S.
