Breaking ground: Work starts on large Orlando aluminum distribution center

Construction started this month on a new 103,000-square-foot headquarters and warehouse/distribution center for fabricated sheet metal distributor AA Metals Inc.

AA Metals last fall closed on the land in Jetport Industrial Park near Orlando International Airport. The firm plans to relocate to the new building from its existing 32,000-square-foot facility in a multi-tenant industrial building on Investors Row in southwest Orlando.

The new building will feature 17,000 square feet of office space and 86,000 square feet of warehouse space. AD Owens Construction Corp. is the project general contractor and TD Bank provided a $5.8 million loan for construction.
