April daily average aluminum output down 100 mt/day: IAI

Global primary aluminum output, excluding China, averaged 67,000 mt/day in April, down from 67,100 mt/day in March, but down from 68,400 mt/day in April 2013, figures released Tuesday by the International Aluminium Institute showed.

Total production in April (30 days) was 2.009 million mt, down from a revised 2.081 million mt in March (31 days) and down from 2.052 million mt in April 2013.

Production for the first four months of 2014 was 8.004 million mt, at an average rate of 66,700 mt/day, compared with 8.201 million mt at an average rate of 68,300 mt/day in January-April 2013.
