National Aluminium Company’s [NALCO] alumina Refinery located at Damanjodi in Koraput district of Odisha has got ISO 50001:2011 ‘Energy Management System certification’ by M/s. DNV-GL of Netherland.

The refinery has been accorded this certification based on its highly energy efficient measures using upgraded technology and state-of-the-art facilities. With this certification, NALCO has achieved a distinct milestone in the non-ferrous segment that further strengthens the company’s intention for pursuing Green Initiatives, a company press release issued here said today.

It may be mentioned that ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System certification aims at identifying energy intensive processes and taking appropriate technological measures to reduce energy consumption. Apart from meeting and exceeding the provisions of the standard, these initiatives will also enable the company in achieving the targets set by the Ministry of Energy in the Aluminium segment.
