Nalco Mines receives environmental award

Panchapatmali Bauxite Mines of Navratna PSU National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), located in Koraput district of Odisha, has bagged awards at concluding ceremony of 16th Mines Environment & Mineral Conservation Week (MEMC) – 2013-14, held at Bhubaneswar, yesterday.

Panchapatmali Bauxite Mines has received 1st prize in top soil management, 1st prize in Afforestation, 2nd prize in Reclamation & Rehabilitation and 2nd Prize in overall performance under the category of fully mechanized mines (except Keonjhar & Sundergarh).

It may be mentioned that MEMC week is celebrated every year under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (Bhubaneswar Region), wherein various teams from different participating mines are inspected and evaluated.
