China's largest aluminum producer Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd. announced electrolytic aluminum output cutbacks of its 60%-owned Shanxi Huaze Aluminum & Power Co., Ltd. and 51%-owned Shanxi Huasheng Aluminum Co., Ltd., due to power shortage.

The two firms have been reducing production since June 26 and are preliminarily estimated to cut 30,000 tons of output in total this summer.

Huaze Aluminum, capable of producing 280,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum yearly, saw its output reduction amounted to 25% of its monthly production capacity by July 18, and Huasheng Aluminum, with a 220,000-ton annual capacity, saw the cutback account for 22% of its monthly capacity.
