China's alumina imports in February rise 31% on year to 460,000 metric tons

Platts reported that China’s alumina imports in February rose 31.4% YOY to 460,000 mt. This data has been released by General Administration of Customs recently.
However, the February imports have fallen 28.1% from the month of January.
Over the months of January-February, the alumina imports totaled 1.11 mn mt, up by 21.8% YOY.
China imported 95,257 mt of unwrought aluminum, alloys and products in February, up from 45,478 mt in the period February 2013 & 109,851 mt in January.
For the first 2 months, China imported 205,108 mt of unwrought aluminum as well as alloy and products, up by 78.8% YOY.
China imported a total of 170,000 mt of scraps in the month of February, up by 6.3% YOY but down by 15% month on month.
Over the month of January-February, aluminum scrap imports were at 370,000 mt, a fall of 1.2% YOY.
