Domestic Electrolytic Aluminum Output Expected to Reduce in 2014

(China Aluminum Network) The aluminum industry analyst Wang Chunhui said in Q1 this year domestic electrolytic aluminum industry has cut production 100-200 thousand tons, the whole year expected to 1500 thousand tons, involved capacity reached 2500 thousand tons and most of the reduction may conducted in the first half year.

According to the new research results only Shandong and Xinjiang region maintained profitable in primary aluminum cash cost, earned 613 and 136 Yuan/ton. While other 18 provinces which produce aluminum products took a loss from 2559 to 676 Yuan/ton.

Wang Chunhui expected 20,000 thousand tons of electrolytic aluminum capacity may face cash loss at the end of this week, loss ratio reached 73%, while this figure was 36% at the same period in last year.
